Additional 583 Subfield in OCLC LHRs for Multi Volume sets
Multi volume sets have 583s as describe above in the individual items. However upon export for OCLC, the volume fields are concatenated into a subfield 3 to describe the extent of the commitment in the OCLC LHR. For example:

Additional 583 Subfield in OCLC LHRs for Serials
Serial records also contain a 583 subfield 3 to describe the extent of the retention commitment. Commitments were only made on material already in the library, and thus these are always closed holdings. Commitments may be updated to extend the close date. For example:

Additional Fields for OCLC LHRs for Serials
Retention statements in checkin records contain a subfield 3 to describe the extent of the retention commitment, and also a required 866 field to which repeats this information. See example below:
